This year, Comic Relief will be celebrating 25 years of fundraising. That’s right, 25 years of baked-bean baths, shaved heads and many other hilarious things that we’ve all done, to raise money for good causes both here in the UK and abroad. To mark this momentous occasion, Comic Relief will be in Africa, to show us where exactly the money raised has been spent, and the effect it’s had in transforming the lives of those people helped by it, because truly, it has!
All I can say is, they better have a large supply of gin, because joining them will be the whirlwind of mischief making that is Annie from Mammasaurus, Tanya from MummyBarrow and Penny from Alexander Residence. Representing people like you and me – people who give what we can, no matter how small that is – they will be jet setting off to Ghana with Comic Relief on Project #GoodWork. On the 4th and 5th of February, these three wonderful women, will be visiting four different projects in Ghana, live tweeting and blogging as they go, to show us the difference that our donations have made over the years.
It’s difficult to justify why you should give to charity sometimes, but a venture like this, really does show you that it is so worth it and that it does make a difference. Please show your support for Comic Relief and #TeamHonk, by spreading the word far and wide. You can find out how you can take part by visiting the #TeamHonk website, even if it’s just telling your friends and family it helps!
